About The Artist

WILLIAM ABATECOLA

I started welding at my Grandfather’s side when I was just 7 years old. Then in 1958 at 14 years old I was building, modifying, and fabricating race cars. I owned and operated East Providence Welding Company in Rhode Island, from 1968-1982. I am fascinated by the way metal is changed by heat. I have a very abstract mind and love letting my imagination go.

I started to make some sculptors on the side in 1975. I make custom pieces for clients.
